The home we feature today is a residential structure that was built for a young family located in an urban city of Argentina. This project was a collaboration between architects and client that challenged them to come up with well designed solutions in creating an urban oasis with elements to balance nature and city life....

This contemporary commercial space is the Neo Derm Medical Aesthetic Centre in Hong Kong, created by interior designers and architects Beige Design . The architects took ’line’ and ’lime’ as the inspiration for creating an energized and youthful solution to the design brief, as well as approaching it with a concept of sustainability and continuity: “Backdrop of the reception is a lime color wall with a front layer of translucent recycled resins panel, the embossed lines on the panel are just like the light beams dashing around to embrace the space speedily....

Israel-based designers, Ando-Studio , were prompted with the design for this industrial loft out of a desire to create an open and eclectic free space, with a lot of attention paid to detail. They sought to create an authentic loft with life, movement, and continuity. Spaces were dressed with plenty of books, photos, and art and they installed large windows, to allow plenty of natural light inside. The materials most striking in the loft design are wood, silver metal, glass, and a lot of leathers which are used for the furnishings....

Exposed concrete walls, steel girder ceilings and barely-there glass floors set the scene in this industrial style home by Ukrainian architect Igor Sirotov . The utilitarian backdrop is home to some plusher looking pieces, such as a scattering of designer chairs and a soft sofa pit, which cause an interesting contrast. Quilted covers warm up the six dining chairs in this open plan lounge-diner, where a rustic table on heavy steel legs fits in perfectly with this stark home scene....

Rustic elegance washes through these four large home designs, characterised by calming neutrals, tactile stone and rugged rustic features. Architectural archways and great columns build grandeur under classic wooden ceiling beams. Ancient stone masonry is laid bare to expose the history and age of the buildings, cracks and all, in perfect imperfection. Modern pieces counterbalance the classic backdrops, adding in chic silhouettes. Modern interior design seems to have undergone a mass desaturation process, with many contemporary homes decked out in a monochrome manner. Monochrome is cool, but so is colour.
