This unique black and white apartment, from company Geometrix may be a design option for some who love the futuristic style and may bring to mind spaceships. Starting today(June 8, 2009, Frank Lloyd Wright’s 142nd birthday), Google is holding the Design It: Shelter Competition that challenges participants to create a simple shelter for a specific geographic location anywhere in the world. According to Google, the inspiration for ‘Design It’ comes from Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic assignment for the apprentices at Taliesin, his architecture school in Arizona and Wisconsin....

When it comes to designing a home that is situated near an incredible landscape, it is always a challenge to ensure the home is beautiful in its own right without detracting from its natural surroundings.
